Ah Yeah Comics Shop!

must admit, I am a comics shop snob. Sure, I used to be happy walking into any shop selling comics, even if it was musty, comics stacked haphazardly to the ceiling, shop owner ignoring the clientelle so he could watch the "Director's Cut" of Gojira ("Don't call it Godzilla!")-- but not any more.

Now that I have kids, I can NOT STAND these crummy shops, who do more to scare the uninitiated away from graphic novels and GN's than enlighten them to the awesomeness that is comics! Lighting so you can see in front of you! Friendly faces greeting you as you walk in! A friendly looking store, with signage that does more than test the heterosexuality of the visitors, as well as their tolerance for pics of swords going through zombie skulls above the all-ages section.

Well, Art & Franco, the creators behind Tiny Titans and the new Suprman Family adventures, have teamed with their buddy Marc Hammond, to create a shop for everyone, and heavily dependent upon creating the NEXT generation of comics readers.

I am rooting for these guys-- I guess I have since meeting them at the Delaware ACME con in 1998, just before my first issue of Buzzboy came out. Their self-puvblished "Patrick the Wolfboy" is a favorite, and their enthusiasm knows no bounds. I hope to interview them soon on this inspired (and somewhat crazy) move into retailing.

If you are in the Chicago, IL area, please stop by and tell 'em Buzzboy sent you!

THAT'S RIGHT!  True Story!
Art Baltazar & Franco along with Marc "Brother Bear" Hammond, have teamed together to bring you the most awesomest of comic shop experiences

Just one little "0"...

...caused Friday's comic to not post--sorry. Blame it on my thick fingers, but when naming the file that SHOULD have shown up on Friday, I hit the zero button one too many times. Here is the comic that you missed. I have renamed it and it should show up correctly in the archive later today. So go back a page, read that, then read this, then look up and read that, then spin around three times, and... I am such a goof.

Sheesh! I probably would have found the error Friday, but was up in Canada for the Calgary EXPO-- wow, talk about a great show! I'll put up a full report later, but right now, let me just thank everyone who came by and mentioned the sight or podcast, the event organizers (especially Blaine and Kandrix!), and Andy Runton (Owly), who was responsible for me getting invited in the first place (hi, Andy's mom!)

Tip your waitress!

Buzzboy & John Gallagher will be at Calgary Expo this weekend! Booth K 03

To all my buzz buddies up north-- it's time to get ready for some Calgary craziness at the upcoming Calgary Expo!

I can't believe the collection of guests that will be attending, from my buddy Frank Cho, to Stan Lee to those guys that played the Weasley twins (James and Oliver Phelps)! Oh, and Adam West, and the 60s Batmobile, and Firefly's Adam Baldwin-- I am seriously geeking out! Tell your friends, invite your grandmother, and I will offer up an extra special Buzzboy sketch for everyone that brings me some Tim Horton's coffee or donuts! :)

I'll be at Booth # K 03 - c'mon by and tell me I sent you! :) By the way, I am juiced to be within spitting distance of Dan Parent, Ray Friesen, Frank Camuso, and other cool creators like that. Nope, I don't want to spit on any of them-- I think that's a Canadian custom, right? Kidding!

Todays accidental rerun

Sorry- I messed up my upload with the wrong file today! :(

To Buzz Buddy Gabe-- thanks for catching this-- when starting up the webstrip, I numbered, then renumbered the strips, messing up here and there. The next strip in the story is slated for Wednesday, and the story should continue uninterrupted until the conclusion of this story, Monday, Wenesday and Friday.

Thanks for your patience-- I've included in this message a fill-in strip, which should replace today's "rerun" shortly...-- a "Lost" page from the Buzzboy/Roboy Free comic Book Day Edition from 2007.

Have You "Liked" Buzzboy on FacebookYet?

The Buzzboy Facebook page
has extra art and soon, extra stories that you won't find at the Buzzboy webcomics page-- so be sure and head over and "Like" Buzzboy to have access to our upcoming bonus material!

I hope everyone had a great holiday-- I somehow am more tired by my kids' Spring breaks than when we are driving all over creation for classes, practices and games. Maybe it's the to drink some more coffee at the Buzzboy Diner!

Take care and tip your waitress!

Friday Good Comic Strip

Hey Buzzbuddies! Due to a technical error on my part, today's Buzzboy comic is not appearing. It should be fixed as soon as the servers refresh, but for now, I've posted the page here in the Buzz Blog. It looks blurry in the post, but if you click on it, it will take you to a non-fuzzy image.

This finishes up Book 2-- stay tuned for Book 3 starting next week! And we're topping it off with art from none other than Avenvers vs. X-Men artist Frank Cho.

Sorry for keeping you waiting-- tip your waitress!
